Content marketing is a type internet marketing that involves providing knowledge to be able to market to that audience. For instance, a plumbing company could post an add on their website about how to unclog a toilet, and on the sides they have banners or ads for their company, hoping in part that the do-it-yourselfer trying to learn how to unclog his toilet will eventually give up and call them. If nothing else, however, providing knowledge for people who are looking for it directs them to your website. Then if they need some help with something later, the name of your company will already be in their mind. Furthermore, they will think of your company as one that they trust, based on the helpful information they received earlier.
